I got a time of 31:45. I did stop for water and to look at a deer thing but there were no deer. I hope to get inhalers this week cause I think I still have sports asthma. I hope to do under 30 minutes whenever I do another one. I also only had four hours of sleep.

Hi everyone hope your Saturday is going better than mine is. I came down with a terrible migraine today that was so bad I ended up getting sick from. Ellen that is a great time on your 5k I use to run 5ks all the time. It has been a long time since my last run. I have had some injuries that took me away from running. I miss it. I wanted to to share with everyone a tool I use to help me. I use a daily log book that helps me keep track of what I eat when I eat it along with all my workouts. I know a lot of people use apps and they are great but sometimes it is just easier to jot stuff down. I also like the book because it is much easier to share with Cassandra when I have questions or concerns about my food. I have 4 of these made right now. I am going to get these to Cassandra for anyone interested in trying one. Let Cassandra or I know if you are interested. I will work on making a few more as I see how much interest there is.

I would be interested in that log. I have a hard time keeping track with my app. In fact I just got a new phone last week and never even downloaded it again. And as far as this week's challenges, I didn't do so great. I wanted to find a place to start swimming, but I just didn't get around to it. And I also broke the no fast food rule . I had to fast for a blood test and didn't prepare anything for after so I went to the nearest taco bell (that's my weakness in the fast food category.) Anyway, turns out the blood test showed high LDL (bad cholesterol), so even more reason to cut out the fast and fried foods. And I found a relevant article if anyone wants to peruse it. m.huffpost.com/us/entry/2198725/Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Hi krwellma I'm happy to get you one of the books. What will be the easiest way? Do you go to any boot camps or training with Dave or Cassandra? I will get several copies to them this week to share with people.

Oh wow! That's awesome Lee! I know how much logging your food in that way has helped you. I'm sure lots of people would love that. That's so generous of you!!

Great read Kris! Interesting stuff in that article. I didn't realize how immediate effects were of a fast food meal were!!

How's everyone doing today?? Anyone get a new cardio in?? My plan was to take up swimming - but I did not go explore that. I do not have a gym membership that offers swimming and we did not look into any free options. Blech. :/ BUT! I did clean an apartment (took 4 hours!) and re-vamped our whole front landscaping with Dave this weekend! So I'm going to say that half counts. Lol. Fast food - not a problem.

Hey lbanders. I was lucky enough to win a free week of bootcamp. I'm hoping to make it out there next week. Those logs look great! I've done well with the fast food except for the once I mentioned earlier. And I played sand volleyball today so that's kinda like a new cardio right? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Ok krwellma I am dropping off the first batch to Cassandra and Dave tomorrow. I would just send a friendly reminder about the log before you go to your bootcamp so they remember to bring one for you. I'm a huge technology lover but there is just something about writing stuff down. I find if I'm honest and really account for everything the physical act of writing my food down I find myself being more aware of the choices I am making. The book is laid out with seven days of log followed by a notes page. I like to use this page for some self reflection and personal evaluation of the previous week. Maybe some struggles I had and areas I need to work on for the coming week. At the top are some daily trackers. Originally I thought I would be shooting for 8-10 glasses of water that was before I learned about the proper amount of water for our bodies. Now I simply count the number of water bottles I drink. The other I use to "rank" how I feel and how how feel about the quality and quantity of sleep. I know this can be tough to quantify it's more about feeling and can help me remember should I need to look back for any reason. Hope this works for you as well as they have for me. Let me know how it goes and if you think of anything that might make them better for others I'm all ears.

Rochester Community Schools offers a good open swim punch card program at Adams High School, if any of you live near there. The Cranbrook Natatorium also has a fantastic pool that's affordable (if not free!), fancy that! Obviously Lifetime has a good pool, but that's $$$. The Auburn Hills YMCA is a good place too.

Oh cool, Lauren! Thanks! I knew there were a few good, low-cost places nearby. But I couldn't remember. The only one we know about is the Cranbrook pool because Maven uses it every Sunday as part of their conditioning. I wanna go now! Lol

Cool! Another play date! Lol. I need a suit. One for "swimming" not "laying". Haha...
